The Journal of Science and Technology – JST – is a scientific publishing organization in Vietnam in the fields of science and technology. The journals published by JST include original research works in the field of engineering with internationally oriented interdisciplinary content. The Journal aims at connecting the scientists in the same fields, to share knowledge within and across disciplines, to create new scientific and socio-economic values by selecting valuable articles. By connecting honorable scientists from different institutions to act in the Editorial Committee and reviewers in a double review process, the Journal strives for a rapid and quality feedback for authors, aiming for a high standard of publication results.
JST publishes original research articles that undergo a rigorous double peer-review process by an editorial board of respected scientists from various institutions. The journal strives for timely publication and high academic standards. Since 2020, JST has been restructured into specialized series:
- Engineering and Technology for Sustainable Development
- Smart Systems and Devices
- Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (launching in 2025)
Scope
Articles published with JST are original research journal articles, covering various advanced research fields. Since 2020, the scope for publications is reorganized to reflect the research trends and advancement in the engineering technology fields.

History
The Journal of Science and Technology, other name known as Journal of Science and Technology of Technical Universities, was first started as the newsletter of Science and Technology. On June 10, 1995, in the spirit of cooperation and development in education, training, and scientific research, a meeting among leaders of several technical universities—including Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and Thu Duc College of Technology Education—resulted in an agreement to transform the newsletter into a formal academic journal, published periodically and hosted by Hanoi University of Science and Technology. On December 13, 1995, the Journal of Science and Technology of Technical Universities was officially approved by the Ministry of Culture and Information. Over time, three more institutions—Thai Nguyen University, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, and the University of Economic and Technical Industries—joined the system, increasing the total number of member institutions to seven. Today, JST is hosted by Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and managed by the Center for Communication and Digital Knowledge (CCDK). Through about 30 years of continuous operation, the journal has published over 180 issues of more than 2,500 articles, contributed to the cause of training and fostering scientific research of the universities and scientific institutions nationwide, as well as strengthen the ties with international scientific organizations.
