FROM RESEARCH TO PUBLICATION IN THE AI ERA – CONNECTING AND INSPIRING STUDENT RESEARCH

“Opening remarks by Dr. Trương Công Tuấn, Director of the Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, emphasized:
“The workshop is organized to connect BK (Bách Khoa) students with peers from other universities, create opportunities for academic exchange, and foster joint research projects among faculty.”

In the context of rapid AI development, many students now have creative, high-potential ideas. However, a major barrier remains the lack of experience and mentorship from predecessors. This workshop serves as a bridge between initial ideas and the rigorous journey of scientific research and publication.

Assoc. Prof. Nguyễn Đức Tuyên, representing the Journal of Science and Technology, delivered a passionate, practical presentation on publishing research internationally—especially aimed at students preparing their first manuscripts. In his talk, he posed several thought-provoking questions:

• Why must we publish our research?
• Why does Vietnam still have so few reputable international journals?
• Why do educational and research institutions need a high-quality journal?
• Why should we prioritize publishing domestically, alongside the Journal of Science and Technology (JST)?

Assoc. Prof. Tuyên also urged students to boldly submit their work and challenge themselves with publication—not only as a personal achievement but also as a contribution to collective knowledge and the enhancement of our nation’s academic prestige.

The workshop was not only a forum for sharing experience but also a catalyst to boost students’ confidence on their research paths. The Journal of Science and Technology will continue to accompany Hanoi University of Science and Technology students on their journey to “turn ideas into knowledge.”
