On June 17, Prof. Le Anh Tuan, President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), met with Dr. Samindranath Mitra, Senior Editor of Physical Review Letters (PRL) — one of the world’s most prestigious and influential journals in physics, published by the American Physical Society (APS).

During the meeting, the two sides discussed emerging trends in international scholarly publishing, the role of higher education institutions in advancing high-quality research, and opportunities for collaboration to strengthen research capacity and global engagement among Vietnamese scientists.

On this occasion, the Editorial Board of the Journal of Science and Technology (JST) also held an in-depth discussion with Dr. Mitra on the journal’s future development strategy. Drawing on his extensive experience in international scientific publishing, Dr. Mitra shared valuable recommendations on journal internationalization, enhancing academic quality, expanding networks of editors, reviewers, and international contributors, and strengthening connections with the global scholarly publishing community.

Dr. Mitra’s insights were regarded as important guidance for JST as it pursues its long-term development goals, including improving publication quality, increasing academic impact, and gradually strengthening its presence in reputable international indexing systems.
